The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green

Mini-Review

A wide-ranging collection of thoughtful, often witty and sometimes touching short discursive essays. The Anthropocene is now: it refers to human impact on the Earth, and a number of the essays are about our effect on the planet, but usually not in a heavy-handed way. It also often touches on anxiety and depression, as John Green suffers from both, as well as the pandemic. Definitely worth a read; a terrific source of short discursive texts, especially for young men, on sustainability & mental health. I listened to the audiobook which was read by the author and quite enjoyed it.

Content warnings: references to anxiety (including climate anxiety), depression, alcohol.
