Mini-Review
Nicholas is a scrappy, working class boy, brought up by a single mum and determined to become a great fencer to prove himself to his dad: an Olympian fencing legend whom he’s never even met. Annihilated in his first bout by fencing prodigy Seiji, Nicholas swears he’ll get his (sporting) revenge. Fast forward to a new school year and he has a fencing scholarship to an expensive boys’ boarding school. He has to make the team to stay at the school, and guess who his room-mate is…
A very entertaining sports graphic novel with lots of action, humour and diverse characters. The writer, C.S. Pacat, was a fencer herself, so lots of accurate fencing action.
