Beautiful, seductive Evelyn Hugo is a Hollywood star—an Elizabeth Taylor-like figure. She’s decided to tell her extraordinary life story to a little known reporter called Monique. But why?

This book is HUGE on BookTok. I enjoyed the first third—it kept me turning pages. After that, I started to find it a bit boring because the writing was so very simple and it felt somewhat sentimental and trite. But many, many people absolutely love it and good for them – just not my cup of tea.

Content warnings: some coarse language, mild non-graphic references to/depictions of sex, deaths including suicide, physical abuse, fear of sexual abuse.
