Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Mini-Review

A super drug has hit the streets of Ketterdam and Kaz has the chance at a multi-million dollar heist by breaking the scientist who manufactures it out of an impossible prison… him and his motley crew of underworld thieves and chancers.

A ripper of a heist novel set in a fantastical kinda Dutch semi-Victorian sleazy slum world with semi-nazis in it. Intricately plotted with lots of twists, and humour and different romance tropes for different characters. Definitely a great read, but if you’re not familiar with the “Grishaverse” (and I wasn’t) it will take you some resilience to get through the opening chapters, as you will be thinking, “What’s that? Who’s that?” etc. Just trust that all will become comprehensible – big payoff if you keep reading. Cliffhanger ending – duology. Going to have to read the next one now!
