Mini-Review
Steel Magnolias meets The Gilmore Girls meets The Inheritance Games, in an entertaining, lighthearted & twisty comedy of manners/relationship mystery. Sawyer is an 18 year old tomboy who grew up in a small town with her single mum, working in a garage to make rent. When her mum (temporarily) takes off with a man she just met, Sawyer’s long lost high society grandmother arrives and offers her a deal: live with her for nine months and make her debut, and get a half million dollar educational trust fund. Sawyer takes her up on the offer, partly for the money, but mostly for the chance to find out who her dad is. She’s immediately embroiled in family secrets, scandal and mystery.
I really enjoyed it. The audiobook is great – love those southern accents. Recommend.
