Mini-Review
Belly (Isabel) spends every summer at a beach house with her mother and brother, and her mother’s best friend and her sons, Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly is the baby of the group, and always feels left out, yearning to be part of the group and particularly for Conrad, whom she’s always loved. But this summer is different – she’s turned pretty.
This book is very popular in the library right now, and it is actually quite good. It feels nostalgic, and really brings back the sweet embarrassment of adolescence and teen crushes. I think it goes one chapter too long though. It should have ended at the end of the second last chapter.
