Mini-Review
This is an interesting verse novel written from the first person perspectives of Shakespearean heroines: Juliet, Ophelia, Cordelia, Lavinia, etc. McCullough brings a feminist perspective to these characters and reimagines their endings in a post #MeToo context. The italicised interstitial sections, set below stage, sometimes feel a little pointless. A good read for Shakespeare fans, and a potential related text for English Advanced – Texts and Human Experiences.
