Mini-Review
Alosa is a fierce and skilled pirate princess, with all sorts of hidden abilities. Her father, the pirate king, has sent her on a mission to retrieve part of a treasure map. To do that, she has to let herself be “kidnapped” so she can secretly search another pirate family’s ship at night. If only the first mate, Riden, wasn’t so distractingly attractive and competent… but she’s more than a match for him, and she’s got a job to do.
An enjoyable and accessible girl power swashbuckling romantasy tale. It does contain a fair bit of non-graphic killing and some wounding, plus some passionate kissing and subtly suggested potential (but not actual) sexual assault. But, on the whole, it’s a PG read.
