Mini-Review
Katy is at an photography show when she unexpectedly sees two photos of a man she knew years before – one in which he looks prosperous but unhappy; in the other, poor but content. This propels her back from the 1960s to the late 1930s, reviving memories of her friendships, loves and misadventures as a young working class girl making her way up the career and social ladder in upper class New York.
A terrific historical novel with lots of authentic detail and an engaging, immersive adventure. Love in a Cold Climate meets The Gilmore Girls. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was perfectly cast.
