Mini-Review
The sequel to the best selling YA romantasy novel Powerless. Pae is on the run, pursued by Kai, the Enforcer, on the orders of Kitt, who is now king. Adventures ensue.
Students who are fans of the first book will love this engaging romantasy with lots of action. It’s better written and less clichéd than Powerless (which was still an enjoyable read), although there were moments towards the end that seemed very clumsily plot-convenient.
Plenty of violence, but it’s not graphic. There are passionate kisses, but Roberts keeps it PG overall.
Fyi: death, violence, unknown parentage, past trauma including torture (not graphic).
