Review
Isobel’s heart was broken over the summer, when her boyfriend leaves her for her former best friend. What’s the point of anything? Her senior year will be hell, and she might as well blow off college, which she can’t afford anyway.
Worried about her sudden lack of interest in her future, Isobel’s mum, a struggling café owner, contacts Isobel’s mega-rich, not-on-the-scene dad, who was hitherto unaware of Isobel’s existence. He whisks her away to an elite boarding school, with an entirely new wardrobe and everything that opens and shuts. Everyone (except for the scholarship kids) at this school is loaded and, at first, Isobel feels out of her depth. But she quickly makes friends.
The one thing her dad tells her? To stay away from Noah Hastings, the most handsome and popular boy in school. But this proves very difficult…

This is very enjoyable, competently written, wish fulfilment fluff, and I am 100% here for it. Every time I think “Ooh, that’s going to turn out badly”, it turns out not so badly. Lots of clothing descriptions and cute boys; fairly wholesome main character.
Enjoy it and don’t think too hard about it.
Recommend for 13+. 424 pp.

Occasional swear words; underage drinking; lots of consumerism; a few kisses.
